BENEFITS OF USING RETINOL:

  • Proper use of retinol dramatically reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and blemishes.

  • Increases skin firmness, strength and elasticity.

  • Contains an microencapsulated “gentle slow release” of retinol to minimize the irritation that is commonly associated with using retinols.

WHAT IS MICROENCAPSULATED RETINOL?

A vitamin A derivative and antioxidant that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves texture and tone by strengthening the skin, improving elasticity while also increasing skin cell turnover. The retinol we use has been encapsulated, allowing for a slow release into the skin overnight. This encapsulation minimizes side effects so you can enjoy all the benefits of retinol with little to no irritation.

INGREDIENTS:

NIACINAMIDE (VITAMIN B3):

Increases ceramides and free fatty acids in the skin, which are key components of its protective lipid barrier. Along with locking in moisture and boosting hydration. It also brightens the skin, controls oil production, calms redness and increases tolerance to topical retinoids.

MATRIXYL “SYNTHE6”: Based on a tripeptide naturally found in collagen and laminins, MATRIXYL SYNTHE6 is synthesized by linking specialized amino acids in order to create a uniquely performing tripeptide that affects 6 major constituents of the skin related to structure and resilience.

TETRAPEPTIDE14, TEA EXTRACTS, BOSWELLIA SERRATA EXTRACT, HONEY are redness-relieving peptides combined with antioxidant properties of tea and calming qualities of honey and boswellia serrata. This formulation will soothe irritation, redness and puffiness.

FAQ ABOUT RETINOL:

Are there any negative effects to RETINOL?

First-time retinol users have reported irritation, including redness, dryness, and peeling. This can occur when you use too high a strength or apply retinol more frequently than you should. You may experience further irritation, like itchiness and scaly patches. This is why we have 3 different retinols here in the clinic so we can keep irritation to a minimum and build up your tolerance.

Is RETINOL actually good for you?

Retinol has various benefits for skin health. It increases skin cell production (proliferation), helps unclog pores and also exfoliates your skin all while increasing collagen production. Retinol can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving your skin a fresher, plump appearance.

At what age should you start using RETINOL?

Begin in your Mid 20s or Early 30s. Typically, your mid-twenties are a great time to start using retinol.

Is RETINOL damaging long term?

Topical retinol is generally safe for long-term use without any detrimental health risks.

Who should avoid using RETINOL?

Retinoids, including retinol, aren't recommended if you're pregnant or nursing. You'll also want to proceed with caution if you have sensitive or dry skin.

Does RETINOL actually make you look younger?

Retinoids reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen. They also stimulate the production of new blood vessels in the skin, which improves overall skin tone. Additional benefits include fading age spots and softening rough patches of skin.

Is it safe to use RETINOL every night?

As a rule in skincare, the more irritated your skin is, the less frequently you should apply it. If your skin responds well, you can start applying Retinol every night.

Is 50 too late to start RETINOL?

The good news is that it is never too late to start incorporating retinol into your skin care routine!

Can too much RETINOL cause aging?

Going overboard on the potent ingredient (known to cause irritation and dryness at high concentrations) can dry out your skin and make your wrinkles more noticeable hence making you believe that you are aging.

Do I need RETINOL OR VIT C?

If you have dull and dry skin then you should try VITAMIN C first. If your problem is fine lines and wrinkles then you should start incorporating RETINOL into your daily skincare routine. Using both of these products together can work significantly in improving your skin and its texture.

Should you moisturize after RETINOL?

Regardless of your skin type or which product you use first, a layer of moisturizer should ALWAYS be applied after retinoids.
