Radiesse Bio Rejuvenation Injections
Stimulate your body’s own Collagen & restore lost volume WITH Radiesse CaHA Injections
What are Radiesse Injections?
Radiesse injections are a popular dermal filler treatment designed to reduce wrinkles and restore lost facial volume due to aging, providing a more youthful appearance, and improving skin laxity. Composed of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, Radiesse provides immediate volume and stimulates natural collagen production for long-lasting results. The calcium based microspheres are similar to minerals found naturally in your body, which dissolve naturally through your normal metabolic process.
Collagen, elastin, and many other components create a dense network of structural proteins that keep the skin supple and youthful. As we age, skin loses this structural network and we being to notice sagging and less definition - especially in the mid and lower face. Radiesse injections are an ideal option for those seeking a non-surgical solution to prevent and combat these signs of aging.
How They Work
Radiesse works by providing both immediate and long-term benefits. Upon injection, the gel carrier fills wrinkles and folds, offering instant volume correction. Over time, the CaHA microspheres stimulate your body’s natural collagen production, enhancing the skin’s structure and firmness. As the gel is absorbed, the newly formed collagen maintains the improved volume and smoothness, resulting in a natural, youthful appearance.
As a regenerative biostimulator, Radiesse delivers noticeable skin-quality improvement by increasing skin thickness and elasticity. Skin regenerated from within stays defined and sustained for up to 39 months, making Radiesse the perfect way to improve and enhance your features with little maintenance.
Treatment Areas
Radiesse is versatile and effective for various facial, neck, and hand rejuvenation needs. Common treatment areas include:
Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
Marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin)
Pre-jowl folds
Chin wrinkles
Hand volume loss
Neck lines and loose neck skin
Chest / décolleté
Elbows and knees
Candidacy, Safety & Side Effects
Radiesse is suitable for most adults looking to address moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, neck laxity, as well as volume loss in the hands. The perfect candidate is someone who desires immediate improved facial appearance with long term benefits to combat most signs of aging. Ideal candidates are in good overall health and have realistic expectations. Older clientele may wish to address lost volume, loose skin, sagging lower face, and loss of volume in the hands and neck. Younger clientele may wish to prevent signs of aging and increase skin collagen and elastin to prolong the appearance of youth.
While Radiesse is generally safe, potential side effects include mild swelling, redness, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. These effects are usually temporary and resolve within a few days. It’s important to discuss your medical history with a certified practitioner to ensure Radiesse is right for you.
Safety is the most important factor at plumpitupp. Although most clients are Radiesse candidates, it is important to not receive Radiesse injections if you:
Are currently treating an active infection with antibiotics.
Have a known hypersensitivity to any of the components in Radiesse, including Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) or the gel carrier.
Are allergic to the numbing agent lidocaine (aka lignocaine and xylocaine) or benzocaine.
Are prone to bleeding or have a bleeding disorder.
Have an active skin lesion in or around your lips.
Are currently pregnant or breast feeding.
Have recently undergone facial surgery.
Please refrain from booking a Radiesse appointment if you have any of the above, or speak to our Plumpitupp practitioners to see if you are the perfect candidate.

Prep & Appointment Expectations
Preparing for a Radiesse injection involves a few simple steps. Before your appointment, there are a few things you can do:
Arrive without makeup - your Plumpitupp practitioner is better able to assess your natural facial anatomy and this lowers your risk of infection.
Avoid blood thinning products such as Aspirin, Advil, alcohol, and smoking (marijuana & tobacco) for a week prior to your appointment to avoid bruising.
Eat before arriving to ensure you have lots of energy!
At your appointment, your Plumpitupp practitioner will go over your natural anatomy and desired goals. They will explain the entire treatment to you. This includes product choice, your goals, method of injection, potential side effects, and aftercare. You can expect to have your picture taken to upload into your medical chart. You will be asked to disclose your medical history, current medications, and allergies.
You may be numbed with a medical grade numbing cream, exclusive to plumpitupp. After your Radiesse treatment is complete, you will have your pictures taken and reminded of your after care. Your total time at the clinic will vary from 30-90 minutes. You can expect minimal discomfort during the treatment.
Aftercare
To ensure the best results for your Radiesse Injection treatment, following these after care instructions is crucial:
Do not smoke, consume alcohol, ASA, Advil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, or blood thinning medication for 24h post injection time. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is acceptable.
Avoid using makeup products for 24h post injection time to minimize risk of infection.
Do not exercise vigorously for 48 hours post injection time.
Do not engage in long term compression against treated areas for 14 days
Swelling, bruising, and mild soreness are a normal reaction to Radiesse injections. Ice the area intermittently & apply Arnica cream.
Sleep on your back as much as possible for at least 14 days post Radiesse injections.
Follow any additional aftercare instructions provided by your Plumpitupp practitioner to ensure a smooth recovery.
Pain, Healing & Downtime
Radiesse injections involve minimal pain, often described as a slight pinching or pressure. Any discomfort is brief and manageable with plumpitupp’s medical grade numbing cream. As well, Radiesse contains lidocaine for additional numbing as the treatment occurs.
Healing time is generally short, with most patients resuming their regular activities within a day or two. Some mild swelling or bruising may occur, but these side effects typically subside within a week.

Radiesse is a unique dermal filler made from Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, which are different from the hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers commonly used in aesthetic treatments. Unlike HA fillers, which can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, Radiesse cannot be dissolved in the same way.
What to Do If You Want to Remove Radiesse
Consult Your Practitioner: If you are experiencing issues or are unhappy with the results of your Radiesse injections, the first step is to consult with the practitioner who administered the treatment. They can assess the situation and provide professional advice on the best course of action.
Massage and Adjustment: In some cases, gentle massage by a skilled practitioner can help adjust the placement of the filler and improve the appearance. This is typically more effective shortly after the injection.
Saline Injection: If there is a build up of product in one localized area - saline can be injected to further disperse the Radiesse. This will encourage break down and quicker absorption of Radiesse while still allowing collagen production.
Allow Time for Natural Absorption: Radiesse is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body over time. While this process can take up to 18 months, the results typically improve as the filler integrates with your natural tissue.
Steroid Injections: For specific issues such as lumps or nodules, your practitioner may suggest corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation and help improve the appearance.
Surgical Removal: In rare cases where complications arise or the filler needs to be removed immediately, minor surgical intervention may be required. This procedure should only be performed by a qualified plastic surgeon or dermatologic surgeon experienced in filler removals.
Monitor for Side Effects: If you experience severe side effects such as persistent pain, significant swelling, or signs of infection, seek medical attention promptly. Your healthcare provider can recommend appropriate treatments to manage these symptoms.
